A year and a half in the making...

Miryia Sterling looks surprised and Max Sterling takes time to explain to Miryia the many macros he coded and uses in his VF-1A, most notably in their their climactic battle over and in the SDF-1. Max's knack for modifying and optimizing V3.1 stock software of the Valkyrie's operating system consistently gave him an edge in combat. Much chagrined to learn how Max bested her in 1 v 1 combat Miryia realizes, to her delight, that she can now put the same code to use in her own Mecha.

Original Art and Coloring in PS CS4. Originally begun in June 2010

Time to complete: Many, many hours...with long delays.

hehe. Nice pic. If memory serves me right, Max had already upgraded to a -1J before he even met miriya in battle.

I do like the the FPA nose art myself! That's kewl. Shows how Miriya, though now a micronized Zentraedi (or Meltrandi/Quadrono), she still loves her people. A true Ambassador between races.

M&M's first fight was Farewell big Brother and Max was flying his VF-1A. When they met in Showdown he was flying the VF-1J, but Miriya had already micronized and they fought in the arcade.

I am a fan of the FPA nose art too! It just made too much sense...

Nice slice of life aboard the SDF-1. Max, you sly dog ;). Nice touch with the lovey dovey power armor on her Valkyrie.

Thanks! That is the idea. Part of my motivation is usually, as I say in my journal, "what would that look like". Max always seems to be tinkering with his VF, so this was a natural evolution of that concept, and I had to figure out how to get them together in a piece. Max was tough! I really struggled with the perspective of his face for a long time. Miriya just seemd to flow out of me and didn't take much rework, though I did get some feedback that in the original she was out of proportion. This is the fixed version.
